Studying at the “Nino Rota” Conservatoire

Non-EU citizens may consult the provisions on Procedures for the entry, residence and enrolment of foreign/international students in higher education courses in Italy published year by year on the Ministerial website.

https://www.studiare-in-italia.it/studentistranieri/

Non-EU students who require a visa must apply for pre-enrolment.

Pre-registration only serves to obtain a visa and must be carried out exclusively through the UNIVERSITALY portal https://www.universitaly.it.

After submitting the application, the Conservatoire will evaluate your application and the documents submitted.

If any documents are missing or incomplete or if your application cannot be accepted, you will receive an e-mail requesting further information or explaining the reasons for the rejection.

In the event of a positive assessment, the Italian Embassy/Consulate will be automatically notified and after due verifications the visa procedure will proceed.

A.1 Foreign EU students wherever they reside

EU students may complete the application for admission in the same way as Italian students by providing documentation relating to their qualifications:

  • Qualifications obtained abroad must be accompanied by a translation into Italian, a legalisation and a “declaration of value on the spot” by the Italian diplomatic Representation with territorial jurisdiction.
  • For the translation of the documentation, if the student is abroad, he may use local translators but must ask the Italian Representation for the conformity of the translation. If the interested party is in Italy, he may contact the Courts that have official translators.
  • Declarations of value must be requested from the Italian Embassies or Consulates in the State in which the qualification was obtained.

A.2 Non-EU students legally residing in Italy

This category includes:

  • NON-EU STUDENTS WITH A RESIDENCE PERMIT ENROLLED IN OTHER SCHOOLS

They may submit an application for admission through the on-line system provided that:

  1. They can prove that they are enrolled and in order with the payment of fees at an institution of the same grade and have passed at least two progress examinations in the last academic year;

These students are however subject to quota restrictions and take the Italian language test.

They may submit their application directly with the following documentation:

  1. Non-EU students living abroad
  2. Registration on the Isidata portal

After entering your application on the Universitaly website you still need to apply for admission on the Isidata portal.

  • Visa application

After notification of acceptance on Universitaly and on Isidata, the student can go to the Italian Consulate or Embassy and proceed as follows to apply for a visa.

If you already have a study visa you can take the admission examination and, if necessary, apply for a visa renewal directly in Italy.

  • Documents to be attached

Diploma Supplement or, alternatively, a declaration of value issued by the Italian Diplomatic Representation competent for the territory where the qualification was acquired.

These students are however subject to contingency restrictions and take the Italian test.
